JACOB J. (JAKE) HUBBELL

Jake began practicing law in Columbia, TN in November of 2011 after obtaining his law degree in April of 2011 from the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude. Jake earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Finance and an emphasis in real estate from Middle Tennessee State University in May of 2001.

While in law school, Jake was a Senior Staff Member of The University of Memphis Law Review and a member of The University of Memphis Moot Court Board. Jake received awards for earning the highest grades in his Evidence, Income Taxation, Trusts, Criminal Procedure II, and Product Liability classes. He also was the recipient of the Dean’s Award for Excellence, Best Oral Advocate and the Jerome Rosengarten Memorial Scholarship. Jake served as Research Assistant to Barbara Kritchevsky, University of Memphis Professor of Law, and as an intern at the U. S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Tennessee.

Jake is a member of the Maury County Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and is a past president of the Maury County Young Lawyers Division. Jake currently serves as Middle Tennessee captain of the Tennessee Young Lawyers Division Wills for Heroes Committee, which organizes legal clinics to provide free wills and estate planning documents to first responders, including police officers, sheriff’s deputies, and fire fighters.

Prior to attending law school Jake worked as branch operations manager for a Fortune 500 Company. During this time he oversaw daily operations and sales, supervised 25 employees, and managed a P&L for a branch with nearly three million dollars in annual revenue. In addition to his legal education and experience, Jake is able to draw on his management experience when advising clients on a variety of legal matters.

Jake was born in Columbia, TN and grew up in Culleoka, TN, where he attended and graduated from Culleoka High School. During high school Jake was active in a number of extracurricular activities, including FFA, serving as State FFA President in 1997. Jake currently resides in Columbia, TN, and his law practice is focused on helping people in Maury and surrounding counties.
